INTEGRATED SERVICES: We specialize in petrophysics for reservoir description (reservoir characterization), in support of field, pool, and basin studies, and in productivity analysis from logs and cores in support of reservoir simulations. These analyses require accurate and calibrated values for shale, porosity, lithology, saturation, permeability, and fracture intensity, controlled by sample, core, test, and production history data. Our experience covers most active exploration and development areas in the world.

EXPERIENCE COUNTS: We have a successful 45+ year consulting track record worldwide, and offer our services to many oil companies, government agencies, and consulting firms to augment their expertise. Being an independent contractor, we can often bring fresh insight and solutions to difficult problems, with excellent management control to provide high quality results, on time and within budget.

SOFTWARE SIMPLICITY: Using our META/LOG software, we have recently completed the petrophysical analysis of many well known fields around the world. Projects have ranged in size from a few to 750 wells, spanning up to 700,000 borehole feet in several projects.

FORENSIC ANALYSIS: One of our most interesting services is "Forensic Petrophysics" - the review of previous reservoir studies or drilling programs to find out what went wrong and what went right. This is especially helpful in horizontal wells that perform differently than expected, or in simulation studies that are difficult to history-match. The service has proved to be very beneficial when a consultant and a client disagree on the petrophysical parameters, results, or methods used on a project.

MILD MANNERED MENTORING: We provide mentoring services during projects and instruction in log analysis and calibration of logs to core and production data. We have solved in-house workflow and technical problems for numerous consultants, government agencies, and petroleum companies.

EASY EDUCATION: We have taught more than 1000 students in the last 10 years, in classes ranging from 7 to 25 participants. Courses are based on "Crain's Petrophysical Handbook – 3rd Millennium Edition" by E. R. (Ross) Crain, P.Eng. Extensive customized course notes and work sessions are provided to suit the needs of the audience, with patient and personal attention to each student. We have taught through translators in several languages. Distant learning, eLearning, and home study materials are available.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT: We have assisted numerous clients in their petrophysical software development efforts, and offer advice on coding customized algorithms into any commercial petrophysical package.
