E. R. (Ross) Crain, P.Eng. is a Consulting Petrophysicist
and Professional Engineer with over 40 years experience in reservoir
description, petrophysical analysis, and management. He is a
specialist in the integration of well log analysis and petrophysics
with geophysical, geological, engineering, and simulation phases
of oil and gas exploration and exploitation, with widespread
Canadian and Overseas experience.
Strengths
include excellent managerial skills, especially in integrated,
multi-disciplined field studies, an ability to bring these projects
in on-time and within budget, a successful entrepreneurial background,
a proven record of innovation in computer applications, and
an ability to teach these skills.

Consultant, Spectrum 2000 Mindware, an independent petrophysical
consulting practice, specializing in petrophysical
analysis for integrated projects, mentoring, forensic analysis,
and courseware.

1973 - 1986: President
and Principal Consultant, Log/Mate Limited,
where he developed and successfully marketed the first
desktop microcomputer
system for log analysis (1976), five years before the terms
microcomputer, personal computer, or PC had been coined.

2005 - Present:
University of Calgary - Invited to assist in curriculum
design and course presentation of a new Petrophysics course
for 3rd year Geology and Geophysics course.

2004 - Present:
University of Tulsa - Invited to teach Petrophysics portion
of TU Leader Program run by TU for Schlumberger engineers.
