PETROPHYSICAL SOFTWARE: We offer mentoring advice on entering custom algorithms into commercial petrophysical software packages, such as GeoGrapix PRIZM. While most packages have a high level of functionality, they are generally shy on the mathematical algorithms needed for unconventional reservoirs, such as tar sands, radioactive sands and carbonates, laminated shaly sands, fractured reservoirs, gas shales, igneous and metamorphic reservoirs, and unusual mineral mixtures.

We can also assist in petrophysical needs assessment and training. In particular, we can help integrate engineering, geological, and geophysical data into the petrophysical analysis workflow, as well as the integration of petrophysical data back to the three primary disciplines.

These are self-documenting Excel or Lotus spreadsheets with visible equations and rational defaults. User inputs are clearly marked. Ideal for "Quick Look" analysis using sophisticated methods. Math and case histories are documented in Crain's Petrophysical Pocket Pal or Crain's Petrophysical Handbook.
